Abuse / Threats In-Person

When you report to Ugly Mugs you can choose "Abuse / Threats In-Person" as one of the incident types.

What is Abuse / Threats In-Person?

This is when somebody acts towards you in a way you perceive to be abusive or threatening and they do this in-person rather than remotely. It is typically frightening because the person is right there with you and you have cause to be afraid their behaviour may escalate to assault. Many actions that are abuse or threats in-person may also be criminal offences.

Examples of Abuse / Threats In commonly reported to Ugly Mugs include:

Shouting and arguing
Aggressive gestures and body positioning
Abusive name calling
Misogyny / whorephobia
Racism / xenophobia
Transphobia / homophobia
Direct threats
Indirect threats
Threats of violence
Death threats
Threats of police / immigration / eviction
