Sexual Assault

When you report to Ugly Mugs you can choose "Serious Sexual Assault" or "Less Serious Sexual Assault" as incident types.

What is Sexual Assault?

Without consent, any kind of sexual activity is sexual assault.

Consent happens when all people involved in any kind of sexual activity agree to take part by choice. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.

Consent is vital in sex work. Almost all workers have many limits as to what they are willing to agree to in terms of sexual activity. Some workers do not agree to any sexual activity at all, because they only do things like massage. Payment does not in any way invalidate the need for consent.

Any sexual behaviour that you have not consented to is sexual assault. We have categories of "Serious Sexual Assault" and "Less Serious Sexual Assault" because our members indicated a desire to have these two options. You may choose either or both categories.

Examples of Serious Sexual Assault commonly reported to Ugly Mugs include:

  • Rape and attempted rape, including vaginal, anal and oral rape
  • Removal of condom without consent
  • Aggressive or violent behavior during sexual activity
  • Holding you against your will

Examples of Less Serious Sexual Assault commonly reported to Ugly Mugs include:

  • Sexual touching
  • Exposure by someone of their genitals

These lists are not exhaustive. Any sexual act you did not consent to is sexual assault. If you perceive you have been sexually assaulted in any way that is enough reason to select either of these categories.

Serious Sexual Assaults are classed as high level incidents on Ugly Mugs.

Less Serious Sexual Assaults are classed as medium level incidents on Ugly Mugs.
