Abortion in Ireland

In both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland abortion is illegal in most cases.  However there are organisations that can offer you advice, support and assistance.

Abortion Support Network

Abortion Support Network (ASN) provides confidential, non-judgmental advice and support to women in Ireland.  They can also put you in touch with other organisations that can help you.  If you need to travel to England for an abortion ASN can provide information about the least expensive way to arrange your travel and procedure.  They can also provide financial assistance and accommodation.

Early Medical Abortion Pills

Women Help Women (WHW) and Women on Web (WOW) can provide early medical abortion pills to women in Ireland.

The British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) has a free telephone aftercare helpline for women in Ireland who have bought abortion medication online.  From the Republic of Ireland call 1800 910 049 or from Northern Ireland call 0800 077 6049.
